For students who need a regular art fix, Art Club Studio offers limited classes on a weekly basis.
These groups are so special- as students relax into the space and their art making.... trying a variety of materials and techniques over the term. From painting, to sculpture, to collage to clay- they won't want the term to be over!!

Art club studios, southern highlands, is run by local artist and teacher louisa de haas. colour & creativity are a way of life for Louisa, so come and join in the fun. art is fun (& important) !

How we do things
ART CLUB STUDIOS is committed to inspiring children and teens in their fun (& important!) journeys of artmaking.
Why is art important?
Art is a way to express what it is be human. Art is an exploration of individuality, of purpose and of feelings that can't always be explained. And it feels good!
NO COOKIE CUTTER ART?
The benefits of art are often in the making, the doing, the experimenting...and so our focus is not always on the final product, but the process.
Not everything artists (young or old) create will be sensational, and that's what we encourage. There's so much pressure on kids and teens today to live an Instagram-Worthy existence... More than ever, we are committed to providing an environment of supportive, in-the-moment creativity and exploration. From this place of trust and curiosity, beautiful things happen!
Just let it go and have fun!
Play is a huge part of true creativity. At the end of lessons/workshops/parties, kids and teens will be keen to show off their work to you. You can help by trying to avoid the standard value responses and instead ask them to tell you about it. Ask them about their choices of colours/ materials/ subject, what part excites them... what materials they used....what they might like to have a go with next time.
All these shifts of perspective are so powerful in helping children and teens relax into a sense of satisfaction with the art process, and not worrying if a piece of work will end up in a frame. It makes it easier for little artists to take risks!!
